I have a springfield armory 1903 30 06 a friend of mine died a few years back his wife gave it to me ! jw what its worth. ive been all over internet and they range from 600 to 2500 any thoughts?

Clean the gun and shoot it.

If you're going to sell it, ask his widow first. And offer to give her the money.

I know a bit about firearms. How good of shape is the weapon in? Any idea of date of manufacture? Serial number range? Part/stock original and match or has it been repaired?

1903s are a lot of fun to shoot, make sure the mag cutoff is switched off or you'll go crazy trying to figure out why the bolt won't strip a new round.
